artist's statement

A torn head has come to rest poised structurally unaided directly upon the ground. It is unreferenced to any model or image.

The head is contained within a square defined by the four steel plates. The plates each indicate a rust graduation pattern, striving from the inside edge outwardly towards the viewer.

This is not intended as a work concerning death. It is more about the weight and price of insight, and the certain dignity that accompanies it.
